Puzzle, Windows and a Puppy

We finished our 2000 piece puzzle. It was quite an accomplishment.

We got three new windows on Monday, here are a few pictures

We also picked up our new puppy, Macy, last night. She is starting to get used to her new house and us. She sleeps a lot, but for some reason not at night.

Happy Weekend

Jon and I had a busy Friday evening. We went to the new (and temporary) Barbie Store in the Mall of America. Here is some proof:

We also went and visited a litter of puppies and met our new puppy! We will be picking her up next Friday. She is a basset hound/lab mix aka bassabor. We named her Macy. She is very adorable! Here is her pick from the humane society.

Jon is working this morning and on call for the rest of the weekend, so we are just hanging out at home. I will have to start puppy proofing our home so everything doesn't get chewed up. We have also been working on a 2000 piece puzzle of the Las Vegas skyline for quite a while now and hope to finish over the weekend. Pictures to come soon.

Yard Work

Jon and I have been completed our yard work for the year. With the cold weather, rain and snow it is time to stay inside! We did manage to get some new plants and bushes, do lots of weeding and added landscaping rocks in a few areas around the house.

Here are pictures:

Back to Reality

After a summer full of packing, moving, unpacking, decorating, procrastinating, and way too many doctors… I finally had to go back to work.
It has been a month since the last update and Jon and I have been doing some yard work. Jon moved the fire ring from the center of the yard towards the back. He dug the ring into the ground and added landscaping blocks. Here is the finished product. ..

We also dug up a lot of plants that were either not doing well or we just didn’t like. We were over grown with weeds and this was our best solution. I really like how it is turning out although we still have more work to do. We bought a few new plants and are hoping to add some landscaping rock soon.
School has been very busy, although it is going more smoothly than last year. I am able to use some of my lesson plans from last year which saves me from spending hours at night planning out the next day. I do have two new classes this year: Business Law and Sports Marketing/Fashion Merchandising. The rest of my schedule is filled with Accounting 1 and 2, Computer Applications, Desktop Publishing, and HTML. I am also working hard on the DECA chapter for the 2nd year. I have a goal of 10 students this year and I think we might make it. I have 4 new students plus 4 from last year so only need 2 more before next Monday.
Here is a picture of the flowers Jon brought home for me on my first day of school

Here is Jon and the first day of his new job. He know works at the hospital in Arlington which is only about a block from our house!

July!

I am behind on posting, which shouldn't be happening in the summer since I am home. Jon and I have been keeping very busy every weekend this summer. He is a quick recap of July

July 11th: MOVE! With the help of family and co-workers this went pretty well. We moved all of the boxes, furniture and loose ends within a few hours. Unfortunately it took me a lot long to unpack and organize everything. I am still not completely organized around here.

July 17-18th: Sinclair Lewis Days. Jon and I joined my family to hit up some of the local events including crazy days, craft fair, parade, and pie social. Here are a few pics from the parade:

July 24-26th: Camping. Jon and I joined Mark, Sue, Heather, Becci, and Grandma Susan for a weekend camping trip in WI. It was a nice relaxing weekend. For some reason I didn't take any pictures :(

July 31-Aug 2: WEEKEND AT HOME!!!! Jon and I are spending our first weekend of the summer in Arlington with no company and nowhere we have to go. The county fair is being held this weekend and it only about a half block from our house. So we will probably hit that up tonight and then we will finally have some time to get a list of stuff done around the house and yard... and hopefully time to relax too. Jon's birthday is also coming up on Monday, so I need to get a caked baked!
